Our yard

Our yard based in Cowes, UK, is built for commercial vessel construction, combining skilled trades and rigorous processes to deliver where it counts.

Design & Naval Architecture

The foundation of every successful boat build.

We know that every successful project begins with understanding our customer’s requirements. Before any design work or engineering takes place, we take the time to capture exactly what the vessel needs to achieve in the real world.

From there, we translate those requirements into a detailed, practical specification that forms the backbone of the entire build. This specification sets the framework from start to finish, ensuring the project runs smoothly, stays on track, and delivers a workboat that performs exactly as intended.

Weight control, visibility, access, and maintenance considerations are integrated from the outset to protect operational efficiency throughout the vessel’s service life. Regulatory requirements are addressed early to ensure compliance without disruption later in the build.

Drawings, calculations, and specifications are produced to a construction-ready standard, providing clarity for all downstream disciplines. A detailed design phase reduces risk and ensures the vessel proceeds into construction with confidence.

Absolute Marine - Propeller

Engineered Without Compromise

Hull Construction

The Nelson hull design is built for demanding service.

Robust hull construction is at the heart of every build. At Absolute Marine we achieve this through high‑quality GRP materials laid up for strength, durability, and long‑term reliability. The Nelson hull design is renowned for its seakeeping and toughness.

GRP construction allows us to replicate that proven form with precision while delivering a structure that resists impact fatigue in harsh commercial environments. The result is a hull that holds its shape, handles heavy weather and provides the dependable performance that operators expect from a serious workboat.

The structure of the vessel is designed to manage impact loads, vibration and fatigue associated with commercial operation.

Mechanical & electrical Fit-Out

Propulsion and machinery engineered for reliability

This stage integrates propulsion, mechanical and electrical systems tailored to each customers regional requirements. This includes localised engine specification, taking into account parts availability and maintenance schedules.

Ventilation, vibration control and fire risk management are addressed throughout. The boats’ systems are arranged to allow safe access for inspection and maintenance, supporting high utilisation and long service intervals.

Fuel and cooling systems are configured for endurance and reliability under load. Mechanical installations prioritise robustness and serviceability, ensuring predictable performance during continuous operation in demanding conditions.

Wheelhouse & Navigation

Unique floating wheelhouse design for operational comfort and noise reduction.

The floating wheelhouse is mounted separately to the deck, using anti-vibrational mounts designed to significantly reduce vibration and noise which in turn, increases crew comfort and individual well-being. Configured as a professional working environment, the helm layout, seating position, sight-lines and control reach are designed to maximise situational awareness and minimise operator fatigue.

Navigation, communication, and vessel control systems are arranged for efficient use during high workload and restricted visibility. Glare, noise, vibration, and reflection are actively managed through layout and system selection.

The result is a wheelhouse that enables confident vessel handling in all operating conditions.

Next-gen Electrical & Systems Integration

Resilient systems for continuous operation.

All of the vessel’s electrical and navigational systems are fully integrated through a single‑touch, fully programmable, fail‑safe C‑Zone platform. This unified architecture ensures seamless control, real‑time monitoring and complete operational reliability across every onboard system.

We specify next‑generation marine‑grade electrical components engineered to perform without compromise, delivering consistent functionality in all operating conditions, including extreme environments where conventional systems are prone to failure.

The system provides continuous safety and situational awareness day and night, with fully managed navigation lighting, and all critical navigational aids operating through the same robust, intelligently coordinated network.

Finishing & Ergonomics

Durability, usability and crew welfare to the highest standard.

Final outfitting focuses on durability and safe operation. Deck finishes, coatings, seating, handrails, and impact protection are selected for performance in exposed marine environments.

Non-slip surfaces and secure movement routes reduce injury risk during heavy weather. Shock-mitigating seating and ergonomic layouts support crew welfare during extended duty periods.

Materials are chosen for resistance to wear, corrosion, and cleaning processes. Attention to detail at this stage ensures the vessel remains functional, maintainable, and safe throughout its extensive operational life.
